Argentinian defender Nicolás Otamendi appears to be set to leave Valencia this summer, with Manchester United and Real Madrid being his main two possible destinations. Real Madrid met with Otamendi's agent last week, and so did Manchester United, according to Valencia newspaper SuperDeporte.
Otamendi has a €50 million release clause on his contract, but Valencia could accept a lower offer if some players are included in the deal, per that same report.
Would it make sense to mave a move for Otamendi considering that Ramos, Pepe and Varane are already in the roster? Probably not, so it would likely mean that one out of those three players might be leaving the club soon. Varane has offers, Pepe's contract expires one year from now and Ramos refuses to negotiate a contract extension, so nobody knows what might happen with Real Madrid's defensive line this summer.
Valencia are always tough to negotiate with, and that's an understatement if Madrid are involved.
