Real Madrid give up on Manchester United's De Gea, start talks for Bernd Leno?

With Manchester United asking close to €40 million to let De Gea sign for Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez has started the talks for German goalkeeper Bernd Leno, according to MARCA. While De Gea is still Real Madrid's priority, it seems that it will not be easy to sign him without spending big money.

Real Madrid need to upgrade the goalkeeper spot even if Keylor Navas becomes the starter. De Gea has just one year left in his contract and €40 million is a lot of money, but he would be worth it, so Real should just give United the money and put an end to this transfer saga.

Some fans will certainly feel frustrated by Real's transfer policy, as the club has not added a single reinforcement other than Danilo. There's a long way to go this summer, but Real Madrid must try to complete the roster before the pre-season starts on July 11th.
