Real Madrid confirmed via official statement what wasn't much of a secret. Casemiro will return to the team after spending one season on loan with FC Porto.
Real Madrid C. F. has exercised the option to salvage federative rights on the player Casemiro, after FC Porto stated that his buy back clause had been activated.
Casemiro played fairly well with the Portuguese side and should be able to make an impact in Rafa Benítez's squad. However, he should not be expected to start, but considering that Benítez rotates his team a lot, Casemiro should get relevant minutes throughout the season.
All in all, this was an expected move by Real Madrid, one that could be very important for the team's depth. Lucas Silva will likely be loaned now that Casemiro is back, and the former Cruzeiro player will have to prove if he has what it takes to play for Real Madrid.
