Aged 18, Jesús Vallejo is Real Zaragoza's captain. Vallejo is the leader of a team which almost managed to promote to the Spanish Liga BBVA this past season and certainly one of the most interesting prospects in the world of football. He is a creative center-back capable of bringing the ball up the field with his passing abilities and also his dribbling.
Real Madrid are interested in signing Vallejo, according to Marca. Sources close within Real Zaragoza confirmed to Managing Madrid that Real Madrid have showed real interest in the player throughout the year. Other clubs like Arsenal or FC Barcelona have also scouted Vallejo, but Real Madrid are truly committed and appear to be close to sign the defender.
Vallejo has a release clause of €4.5 million and could've played for Castilla had Zidane's team promoted to Segunda División. However, Real Madrid could only buy him now and let him spend a couple of more seasons with Zaragoza in order to fulfill his potential and get enough minutes, something he would not have with Real Madrid.
Vallejo is seen within Real Madrid's board as the next Varane or Sergio Ramos given how young these two players were when they signed for Madrid.
Jesús Vallejo is one of the most talented prospects in Spanish football. Madrid want to sign him and would keep him on loan with Zaragoza.
