There are simply no reasons other than money to schedule pre-season games in places like China. The crowd enjoyed the game and the Chinese fans surely deserve to feel like they're part of Real Madrid, but the weather and the pitch were simply in no condition to play football.
This match between Real Madrid and Milan was completely meaningless and useless. Neither team wanted to put on a convincing effort, and even when the players tried to create some serious danger, the ball was bouncing off the grass like it was a rabbit.
Still, there are a couple of things worth mentioning:
-Kiko Casilla possibly saved the game for Real: Milan had two good opportunities during the second half and the Spanish goalkeeper was sharp enough to save them. Well done. Furthermore, he scored on the penalty shootout and saved Milan's shot to give Madrid the win. Well done by who will most likely be Real's reserve goalkeeper next season.
-It would be a big risk to name Arbeloa as Marcelo's backup: Coentrao isn't available, but when he will be? Real Madrid need to sign another left-back, and Ricardo Rodríguez seems like a good buy. Arbeloa clearly isn't ready to be Marcelo's primary backup, he's not comfortable on the left wing.
-Danilo turns the ball over way too often: The Brazilian right-back was good on defense, anticipating some of Milan's passes, but he goes for risky passes and unnecessary crosses too often, disrupting the tempo and flow of the game for his team. He will surely get better with time.
