Real Madrid signed Danilo months ago, so Dani Carvajal will have some serious competition for the starting spot in the right side of the defensive line. Still, the Spanish defender agreed to sign a five-year contract extension that will also increase his salary.
Real Madrid announced the extension of the contract which will keep Dani Carvajal with the club until June 30th 2020, for the next five seasons, stated the club via their website.
Carvajal developed as a player with Real Madrid Castilla and then spent one season with Bayer Leverkusen before making his return to Real Madrid's first team during the 2013-2014 season in which he became the team's starter under Carlo Ancelotti. Carvajal is also a regular for Spain now as one of the best right-backs in the world of football.
It will be interesting to see his fight for the spot with Danilo, also one of the world's best defenders at his position.
