- Sergio Ramos will reportedly sign a contract extension with Real Madrid this same Thursday, but his partner in Madrid's defensive line will do the same next week. Pepe's contract expires next summer, but he will sign a one-year extension that will keep him with the club until the summer of 2017. How will this affect Varane's minutes with Madrid? The French center-back will want to be a regular sooner rather than later, so Benítez will need to be smart and manage both Pepe and Varane properly.

- Benítez wants to keep Cheryshev. The Russian player and his agent met with José Ángel Sánchez this Monday because Cheryshev wants to play relevant minutes. Apparently, he will be Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement and that means he will not be playing much, but Benítez wants him to stay unless a big offer comes Real's way.

- Madrid still think Manchester United will lower their demands for De Gea. The Spanish goalkeeper will stay one more year if they don't, as Real Madrid are not willing to spend €40 million on a player whose contract expires in 12 months. If De Gea stays put, Keylor Navas will be the starter, according to reports from Spain.
