Marco Asensio will enjoy the minutes he needs this season as he has confirmed his loan move to Espanyol. The midfielder was not going to be a relevant player for Benítez and that was something that was going to stop his development as a player.
Although Asensio put on some impressive performances this pre-season, it's still too early for him to make an impact in such a deep squad like Real Madrid. Espanyol were always interested in signing him on loan and Real Madrid made things easy for the club after reaching an agreement for Kiko Casilla.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on Asensio's development this season, as it will be his first campaign in the Spanish Primera División. He should be ready to play for Madrid soon enough.
The player said he is now "determined to help Espanyol and make the best out of this opportunity in the Primera División" when he arrived in Barcelona Airport.
