Cheryshev and Illarramendi out of Real Madrid's list is a technical decision

Real Madrid released the squad list to visit Sporting Gijón tomorrow and neither Cheryshev nor Illarramendi were included on the list. Both players are OK and ready to play as it was Rafa Benítez the one who made that decision, club sources told Managing Madrid.

This probably means that Illarramendi and Cheryshev might leave the club before the end of this summer's transfer window. Illarra will not enjoy minutes after the signing of Mateo Kovacic and Denis Cheryshev reportedly wants to be a regular even if that means leaving Real Madrid.

These two men could have added great depth to the squad and Madrid could miss them down the road. Cheryshev completed a great season for Villarreal last year and some fans were hoping to see how he could make an impact under a Real Madrid shirt.

On the other hand, Illarramendi has had two seasons to prove he was a good signing and his performances have been nothing short of a disappointment, so it might be better for Real Madrid to part ways with him.
