Real Madrid has too many non-EU players right now in its roster and, as it was confirmed a few days ago by coach Rafa Benítez, Lucas Silva is the one that has been chosen to leave the team before the season begins. As French newspaper L'Équipe reports today, the Brazilian midfielder is set to join Olympique Marseille on loan.

Lucas Silva would, therefore, meet Real Madrid former player Míchel, who arrived in Marseille just last week to become their coach after Bielsa's resignation, and who had an extraordinary debut by beating Troyes by 6-0 last Sunday. Olympique Marseille and Lucas Silva have reportedly reached an agreement, and there is no reason to believe Real Madrid would have any problem sending the player there, although Los Blancos are claimed to prefer to have Silva in some team in La Liga, as Valencia CF were their first option.
