The Champions League draw for the group stage is always a very important event in every team's season. Tough opposition only makes things harder for teams competing for their league titles and Real Madrid are now in the second pot after UEFA changed their seeding system.

This means that Los Blancos have a fairly good chance of facing teams like Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich or Juventus. Zenit, Benfica and PSV are the weakest sides in that pot and Madrid would be very lucky if they draw them.

Roma, Lyon and CSKA are arguably the teams Real Madrid will not want to draw in the third pot, while Wolfsburg are definitely the best team in the fourth pot.

All in all, Real Madrid have the roster and quality to beat most teams in the competition, but a tough group stage could hurt the team's chances at winning the Liga BBVA title this year.
