Real Madrid wanted to sign Dani Ceballos this summer and then send him on loan just like they've done with Jesús Vallejo and Marco Asensio. However, Ceballos has ruled out his potential move to Real Madrid after their 5-0 loss at the Santiago Bernabéu.

"I want to stay with Betis and enjoy these fans for many years to come," said the midfielder. He also added that the reports suggesting that he was going to sign for Madrid were "just rumors" because the only thing he wants is "to stay with Betis."

Ceballos has a bright future ahead of him and it would not be surprising to see him leaving Betis soon. Still, it will be good for him to enjoy the minutes he needs to develop as a player with Betis before joining an elite club in which he would have a hard time finding relevant minutes. Madrid will surely keep an eye on his development.
