Real Madrid have announced Casemiro's extension with the club via their official website.

Real Madrid C. F. have reached an agreement with Casemiro to extend the player's contract with the club until 30 June 2021.

Casemiro spent the 2014/2015 season on loan with FC Porto and Real Madrid decided to bring him back after his good performances with the Portuguese side. Although it seems that he will not start for Madrid any time soon, Casemiro could be an important player for Rafa Benítez as he is the only midfielder in the squad capable of providing a physical defensive presence. He is set to be Toni Kroos' replacement and Mateo Kovacic will be Luka Modric's substitute.

Benítez is known for rotating his players a lot and Casemiro should enjoy some relevant minutes throughout the year. His pre-season wasn't bad at all and it seems that he has not reached his ceiling just yet.
