Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema aren't available, so manager Rafa Benítez has an interesting challenge ahead of him. Real Madrid will try to replace two of their most decisive players and prove that the squad has enough depth to fill their shoes in case they get injured throughout the course of the season.
Real Madrid Starting XI: Casilla, Danilo, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, James, Isco, Bale, Jesé.
Tottenham Starting XI: Vorm, Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose; Dier, Alli, Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen, Kane
Fans will surely be looking forward to see what Marco Asensio and Borja Mayoral can do, given that they could earn a spot in this season's squad if they impress Rafa Benítez. It will be hard for them to regain their form after their brilliant U19 Eurocup, but they have enough quality to be relevant backup players already.
Asier Illarramendi should also get some minutes after missing Real's last three pre-season games with an injury. This might be now or never for the Spanish if Benítez keeps him as Real's fourth midfielder.
