The season has not started yet and Real Madrid have five injured players. Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Ramos, Benzema and Coentrao are not available for Sunday's match against Valerenga, and Lucas Silva will also stay in Madrid as he is set to leave the club on a loan deal.

Goalkeepers: Navas, Casilla and Rubén Yáñez.
Defenders: Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Casemiro, Modric, Cheryshev, Isco, Illarra, Asensio, Marcos Llorente and Odegaard.
Strikers: Jesé, Lucas Vázquez and Borja Mayoral.

All things considered, Benitez should still be able to start a very decent team to get things ready for the Liga BBVA debut, but he would surely like to have his whole roster available for said match against Sporting Gijón, something that will not happen.

Real Madrid are playing it safe with Ramos and Ronaldo. Both should be ready to play in La Liga, while Pepe, Benzema and Coentrao are expected to return for Real's first home game against Betis.
