Rafa Benitez will try to see some improvements from his team after a somewhat disappointing Audi Cup from Los Blancos. It's true that Benzema, Ronaldo, Ramos and Pepe are out, but Real Madrid should still be able to beat Valerenga comfortably without those players.
Real Madrid Starting XI: Navas, Danilo, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Casemiro, Modric, Odegaard, Bale, James, Jesé.
Valerenga Starting XI: To be confirmed
Jesé could secure a chance to start in Real Madrid's first Liga BBVA game with a good performance today, given that Benzema will miss said match against Sporting Gijón. Benitez could still decide to keep him on the bench and start Ronaldo as the main striker, but so far Jesé has proven to be the right option to replace Benzema. He deserves that chance and it would be unfair to see him on the bench against Sporting.
All in all, a meaningless game but one that Madrid should use to build some momentum for the start of the season.
