Real Madrid confirmed the bad news. Gareth Bale is injured on his left calf and he could miss the Derby against Atlético.

Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a left-calf injury. His condition will be evaluated.

This is devastating considering how well Bale was playing lately. The Welsh player could be back in time for the Derby but his injury is a bit tricky and it would be safer for Benítez to let him recover properly. He has injured that same calf in the past and it will take him some time to recover.

Real Madrid now have Ramos, Bale, Danilo and James injured. All those four players are usual starters and Benítez will have to give minutes to his reserves if he wants to replace the injured men. Expect Jesé to play in Bale's spot next Saturday.
