According to L’Équipe, Marseille are thinking about terminating Lucas Silva's loan deal with Real Madrid. The Brazilian was set to be there all season, but has failed to make a serious impression on the Ligue 1 club. The plan for the 22-year-old was to gain experience and come back a seasoned player.
However, with Real Madrid having a plethora of options on the bench in the form of Isco, Casmeiro and Kovacic, the promising midfielder may find himself as surplus with Los Blancos. Like Marseille, Real may opt to cut their losses and sell the former Cruzeiro player as they look to re-vamp the squad.
Silva signed for Real Madrid a year ago but never managed to be an important player in Carlo Ancelotti's plans. The Brazilian definitely needs more minutes to mature as a player and he will not be given that if he makes his return to Real Madrid.
