Zinedine Zidane needs to find a replacement for Gareth Bale now that the Welsh will be out for a couple of weeks with a calf injury. While most reports assumed that James would be the chosen one, Radio Marca suggested this morning that Jesé might get the nod ahead of James as his style of play is more similar to what Bale offers than James'.
If that report is accurate, James would be Isco's replacement as an attacking midfielder in this squad. The Colombian is not in great form right now and it would be a huge blow for him to sit on the bench again even with Bale out of the team, but it's true that Jesé's attacking mindset, finishing skills and speed with the ball on his feet make him a good Gareth Bale-replacement.
Either way, Zidane might still choose James when Real Madrid visit Betis next Sunday. Stay tuned for more news.
