Robert Lewandowski wants to sign for Real Madrid, according to The Independent. The Polish striker doesn't want to hear about Chelsea or Manchester United's interest as he only wants to move to the Spanish capital, per that same report.
Real Madrid would still need FIFA to remove their transfer ban and accept their appeal. Apparently, they are confident about this outcome and their offer for Lewandowski next summer would be big enough for Bayern to consider it. Other reports from Germany suggested that next Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti was preparing for life after Lewandowski while targeting other strikers like Higuaín to replace the Polish attacker in the club.
Do Real need to sign Lewandowski considering how well Benzema is playing? Probably not, but that has never worried President Florentino Pérez as he has made some other signings in the past without thinking about the team's immediate needs and the depth chart.
