Real Madrid Castilla striker Mariano Díaz has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid for the next five seasons. Mariano is currently Castilla's leading scorer -- 12 goals over 16 matches -- and even though he's already 22 years old, he seems to be one striker to keep an eye on to see if he really has the potential to become a role player in this Real Madrid squad.

Mariano joined Real Madrid's academy in the summer of 2012. He is from the Dominican Republic and has become one of the main reasons why Real Madrid Castilla have every right to believe this is the year when they will achieve promotion to Segunda División, something that could be very important for the young players within Real's system in the future.

Mariano has not made his debut with the first team just yet and he will have to compete with the promising Borja Mayoral for the striker position in Castilla.
