Real Madrid were able to rescue a 2-1 win against Sporting after the visiting team missed a chance to equalize from the spot late in the match.

  1. James is not ready to replace Gareth Bale. The Colombian player was given the opportunity to play behind the striker in what is supposedly his natural position. However, he failed and completed a very poor overall game, proving that he is not ready to start in Bale's spot any time soon.
  2. Ramos will play El Clasico. The Spanish defender was careful enough not to get booked throughout the game and will be available when Real Madrid visit the Camp Nou next Saturday. Zidane gave him some rest late in the game to ensure he's 100% fresh and ready to go for what will be a decisive match between the two teams that should be fighting for La Liga title this season.
  3. Lucas Vazquez needs to improve. We've talked about how James proved he is not ready to start just yet, but Lucas Vazquez must improve as well if he wants to be the main on the right wing. Casemiro will most likely start El Clasico and that means that Isco, Vazquez, Asensio and James will be the ones fighting for Bale's spot. Right now, that should be Isco's spot to lose.
