This can seem like a rather odd reaction from Real Madrid; not because they’re asserting that Ronaldo paid his taxes, but because they call for “respect.” That would seem like the least of one’s worries considering Ronaldo supposedly funneled €150 million to the Virgin Islands, but they do have a valid point considering the recent behavior of Football Leaks.

It’s one thing to release important information to the public about high profile tax avoidance schemes, but it’s another thing entirely to start probing in and releasing personal affairs that have nothing to do with the matter.
