After new tests carried out today on the player Pepe at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the Real Madrid medical services have decide to continue the recovery work on the plantar fascia discomfort in his right foot over the coming days. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

This is the report published by Real Madrid on Pepe's condition. It looks like the Portuguese veteran could miss some time with this problem and his place in the Starting XI will now be Varane's.

Varane and Pepe have been fighting for one place in the starting lineup all season long even though the French has been performing better. Now that Pepe is out and Ramos is back, nothing should take Varane out of the lineup for Real Madrid's most important matches this season.

Pepe could be back for the Champions League Round of 16 tie against Roma, according to several reports coming from Spain.
