Just as expected, Karim Benzema was able to complete today's training session with the rest of his Real Madrid teammates, meaning that he should be able to participate in Saturday's Madrid Derby against Atlético de Madrid.
The French striker picked up some physical problems in the Champions League match in Rome and couldn't feature last weekend in Málaga. Not only he is the only pure striker in this roster. His importance in Real's offensive system is big and that's why his recovery could be crucial if Los Blancos want to beat Atlético next Saturday.
Benzema has arguably been one of Real Madrid's most consistent players this season, scoring the opening goal in several occasions. He's playing the best football of his career and that's mainly why almost every rumor suggesting Real Madrid will go after another striker this summer has been put aside.
Expect Benzema to start this Saturday if he is able to complete tomorrow's training session.
