With Real Madrid looking to pull themselves back in the La Liga title race and make a serious challenge in the UEFA Champions League, manager Zinedine Zidane has acquired the services of Stéphane Plancque. His main tasks will be analyzing and creating reports on Real Madrid's opponents.

Plancque told French daily paper 20 Minutes, "Zizou called me to offer the post. I was surprised and very honoured."

It is also reported that he will actually begin his duties this weekend by studying and taking notes on Roma's game with Sampdoria with Madrid's last-16 clash in mind.

According to AS, Plancque will not live in the Spanish capital but will travel as needed.

It is evident that Zizou is surrounding himself with people he trusts and believes can execute their duties effectively. Zidane's former teammate in Girondins Bourdeaux added, "If Zidane phoned me, it must be because he has total faith in me."
