INJURY UPDATE: Marcelo doubtful for Champions League's first leg against Roma

The Brazilian will know how severe his injury is tomorrow.

It won't be easy for Marcelo to play in Real Madrid's Round of 16 clash against AS Roma, according to a report from COPE. The Brazilian left back picked up a shoulder injury that will most likely keep him out of that first leg in Italy and he could be available for the return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu if the MRI confirms there is no fracture in the shoulder.

Marcelo is a crucial player for Real Madrid as he is the only pure left back on the roster. If he is forced to miss an extended period of time, expect Zidane to trust Danilo to play in that left side of the defense knowing that neither Nacho nor Arbeloa seem ready enough to face good teams like Athletic Bilbao, Roma or even Atlético de Madrid.

Real Madrid will publish a medical report on Marcelo this Tuesday after testing the player's shoulder.
