More bad news for Real Madrid. Luka Modric will also miss Wednesday's match against Levante after picking up a small foot injury last Saturday.

"Modric will not be available tomorrow. He was hit on his foot last Saturday and it bothers him," said Zinedine Zidane in today's pre-match press conference. Karim Benzema will also be out after Real Madrid confirmed his hamstring injury yesterday.

Gareth Bale rejoined the squad in training today but it might be a bit premature to give him a chance to start given how often he's injured his calf. "Today was his first training session after his injury and it went well. I am happy because of that. He's a big player for us and of course we miss him," said Zidane before adding that the Welshman could be back next weekend.

Mayoral might have a chance to start in Benzema's spot. Zidane said he was "very happy" with Mayoral's performance last Saturday.
