Alvaro Arbeloa was the only player who trained on Monday after spending the night in Real Madrid City. Zidane has given the players Monday and Tuesday off and is expecting them back on Wednesday. However, this did not stop Arbeloa from training in the facilities this Monday morning. The decorated veteran spent his time doing ball work, agility and strength training. The player who arrived in Madrid in 2009 after spending years in the Castilla academy knows these are his last months in the Spanish capital.
"I am aware that these are my las few months at Real Madrid." the fullback told Spanish media, "I train very hard and if I do not play then I train even harder, even on days off. I appreciate the opportunity from Zizou but I do not know where I will play next year."
Arbeloa has achieved a sort of cult status with the Los Blancos following and they often refer to the player as "CAP17AN", meaning our captain and using the numbers on his jersey for the letters I and T. Knowing these are his last days in the club of his life, Alvaro will be trying to make every second last, perhaps a sentiment missing in some other players in the squad.
