Cadena SER talked with Casemiro ahead of Saturday's El Clásico. He talks about how Cristiano Ronaldo is a inspiration for him and players around the world.

"Cristiano surprises me every day because he always wants to work more, he always wants to win more," the 24 year-old told El Larguero radio program in Spain. "He’s an inspiration for every football player in the world. He’s an exceptional player both on and off the pitch. He’s never happy with his goals, he always wants more, and that’s why he’s the best on the world. I have the great pleasure of being able to work alongside him and I learn a lot of things from him."

Even though Casemiro has been with the club since 2013, he has yet to play in a Clásico. He didn't make it into the 4-0 loss to Barça having to watch the loss from the bench. He gives some praise for former Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez.

"Of course I felt bad because we lost the game but no one had to explain anything," he said on missing out on playing against Barcelona in the 4-0 thumping earlier this season in the Bernabeu. "You want to play, be out there helping your teammates but you have to respect the coach’s decision and Rafa Benítez is a great coach," he added.

Zinedine Zidane drives him to be a better player and has trained harder than before.Their relationship started when Zidane was an assistant coach under Carlo Ancelotti.

"I have huge affection for Zidane because he really looked after me when he was Ancelotti’s assistant. Zidane spoke to me a lot, he looked after me. He would always speak to the players who were not playing regularly. He’d call me and tell to keep working hard, to never stop working. He’s got a lot of time for us, for those who don’t play much and the youth team players. I have a lot of respect for Zidane and I’ll just keep working hard in training," Casemiro explained.
