Karim Benzema and Real Madrid will start negotiating a contract extension this next week, according to French diary L'Equipe. The striker is under contract until the summer of 2019 but Madrid want him to sign a new deal to keep him in the club until 2021, per that same report.
Benzema is playing one of his best seasons since he arrived in Madrid, and even though he's having some problems off the field that will force him to miss the 2016 Eurocup, Real Madrid have always shown their support and he's delivered.
The Frenchman is a very important player in Madrid's offensive system and he's still 28 years old, so he surely has some years in him.
Real Madrid have one of the world's best strikers on the roster and it would not make any sense to spend big on another attacker right now, so signing Benzema to an extension seems like a very good deal for Los Blancos and the player himself.
