MANCHESTER -- Real Madrid have competed in the Champions League Semifinals for the last six years, but this will only be the first time for Manchester City this late in the European competition. That could be an important factor as Madrid have the players with more experience, although City's lack of Premier League success this season will allow them to fully concentrate on the Semifinals and that should also be an advantage for them.

Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are ready to play after their physical problems over the last couple of weeks. However, the most important thing about this tie could be the defensive struggles these two teams have shown this year. Manchester City have spent big money on central defenders the last few summers but they still have big room for improvement, something that can also be said about Madrid this year with players like Pepe, Ramos and Varane struggling week in and week out.
