Gianluca Rocchi will be officiating Real Madrid's match against Wolfsburg. The Italian umpire is one of UEFA's favorite referees and has already been in charge of five Champions League games this season, including Wolfsburg's 0-2 win against CSKA Moscow.
Real Madrid drew against Manchester City with Rocchi being the referee back in the 2012-2013 season. Rocchi made a controversial call when he awarded City with a penalty-kick.
This will be the first leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals and it will be extremely important for Los Blancos to score away goals in order to have an easier task when Wolfsburg visit the Bernabéu in a few weeks. The Champions League represents Madrid's best chance of winning a title this year and Zidane's men must seize the opportunity in order to prove that the 1-2 win in El Clásico against Barcelona was no fluke.
The match will be played this Wednesday in Germany.
