3 Atlético Madrid players Real Madrid must stop to win the UEFA Champions League

If you want to win the Champions League title, not only you have to be successful on offense, you also have to stop the opponent's best players, and that's why Madrid's midfielders and defenders have to be especially careful with these three Atlético players.

  1. Antoine Griezmann. He's Atleti's best player, simply put. Griezmann will be very dangerous in counterattack (see what he did to Bayern in the return leg) and both Pepe and Ramos need to keep him under control if Madrid want to raise their 11th European title.
  2. Koke. He's Atlético's key man in the midfield alongside Saul Ñíguez. Koke's ability to cross the ball on set pieces can be very dangerous and his physical presence and passing skills will also be a threat. Casemiro will be on the starting lineup and his work on Koke could be crucial during this game.
  3. Godín. Careful with Godín on set pieces as well. He was the one who scored Atleti's opening goal in Lisbon and Ramos and Pepe must work together to stay with him whenever Atlético cross the ball on a corner-kick situation.
