Enrique Cerezo said before the match that Atlético de Madrid fans could go to Neptuno Square to celebrate the title around 11pm after the match. Not only both teams were still fighting for the title at 11pm, but Real Madrid ended up winning the trophy and proving that karma is strong.
Pepe did not waste a second and reminded Cerezo of his pre-match comments.
"Yeah, we believed in ourselves all the way, Atlético spoke a lot, their president has said many things like the fans were going to be celebrating in Neptuno, now I think he has to go and clean up there because there's nothing going on there right now," said Pepe after the match.
Pepe did not complete a good performance against Atlético but in the end Madrid still got what mattered, so he has the bragging rights just like many Real Madrid fans in the Spanish capital will be proud when they go to work this Monday.
