Real Madrid President Florentino Perez talked about possibly signing Juventus star Paul Pogba, per FourFourTwo.
"Pogba is a great player, but in midfield we have six great players, so I would not want to discuss speculation," Perez said
"While he excites me, it is difficult to reach agreements if there are no termination clauses [in a player's contract], he added.
And Flo isn't wrong: Real's midfield is already deep with elite talent, but perhaps Pogba's trajectory is too high to not go after.
Perez also added some encouraging words for fans who are concerned he's prone to meddling with the manager's duties.
"It is very difficult to bring someone [in]. I'll talk to [Zinedine] Zidane. Our obligation is to be much better every year. He will decide if we can get someone better than we have."
It's nice to hear that Flo might be Zidane complete autonomy for signing players. Perez also added, "I am not the one who has to decide...I would say it is very difficult to manage two great players in that position," when asked about David De Gea. It sounds like Zidane will be the one calling the transfer shots.
It was not specified in which setting these quotes came from -- presser, interview, phone call, etc, but FourFourTwo is a credible publication and are wholly trustworthy. With the Euro upcoming, the chatter about Real and Pogba will only grow louder.
