Real Madrid have sold winger Denis Cheryshev to Villarreal. The winger spent the last three seasons on loan, one with Sevilla, another one with Villarreal and last year with Valencia, and he has now left the club on a permanent deal knowing that he would not get minutes in the Spanish capital.

Apparently, Madrid and Villarreal agreed a €7 million deal, something that is not very good for Los Blancos considering that clubs like Liverpool or Arsenal reportedly offered around €20 million a year ago.

Cheryshev is very injury-prone and that's probably why big clubs decided not to take a chance on him. He was an important player for Villarreal when he was there and he will have the opportunity to be a relevant player once and for all.

Here's Real's announcement.

Real Madrid C. F. and Villarreal C. F. have reached an agreement over the transfer of the player, Denis Cheryshev. The club wishes to thank the player for his dedication and professionalism during these years and wishes him the very best in this new chapter of his career.
