James Rodríguez will stay with Real Madrid and fight for a starting spot next season. At least, that's what he said in a small interview with Marca.
"I am going to stay and fight for a spot in the starting XI, I will stay and succeed here as that is my dream," said the Colombian playmaker.
"I know that somebody offered €85 million, but I will not leave," he added.
James had a very tough second season with Real Madrid even after his brilliant debut campaign in the Spanish capital. He found himself on the bench more often than not under both Rafa Benítez and Zinedine Zidane, often showing a clear lack of commitment when asked to deliver. If James can somehow stay motivated and fight for the spot like he says he will do, Real Madrid might not need to make any big signing for the midfield line, but that is a big if indeed.
