Zinedine Zidane confirmed after the match that Jesé did not feature in the friendly against Chelsea because the player is negotiating a deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
"It seems that PSG and Jesé are talking but we don't know anything. The idea was for him not to play today," said Zidane.
Jesé wants to play the relevant minutes he needs to keep growing as a player, and Real Madrid will let him go easily on a loan deal or if they include a buyback clause. Could Jesé get significant playing time in Paris with players like Di María, Lucas Moura or Pastore likely ahead of him? It would make much more sense to send the attacker to a smaller club, although new PSG coach Unai Emery appears to be very interested in Jesé, something that tells how big the potential of this player is.
Jesé's agent Ginés Carvajal visited Madrid's camp in the United States to negotiate his departure from the club, although if he leaves on a loan deal he will get a contract extension first.
