Valencia CF midfielder André Gomes will most likely be leaving the club this summer, with big teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United interested in his potential as a dominant midfielder in the near future.
Madrid have been rumored to be after Paul Pogba all summer long, but Gomes could be an affordable option to increase the depth in the midfield and replace Modric in the future, according to reports from Spain.
However, it will not be easy, nor cheap to sign André Gomes away from Valencia. Juventus submitted a €40 million offer for the Portuguese midfielder and Valencia rejected it, so it seems that he will not be leaving Valencia for less than €60 million.
André Gomes is a quality midfielder, but is he that good? For instance, Real Madrid might have another good long-term replacement for Modric in Mateo Kovacic, so spending €60 million on Gomes could be seen as a waste of money.
