Arsenal's Mesut Özil wants a return to Real Madrid - reports

Take this with a grain of salt

German newspaper Bild report today that Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil wants to leave the London-based club and make his return to Real Madrid three years after he left the Spanish capital.

Özil has received an offer from Arsenal to extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2018, but he has not accepted said offer just yet and this report from Bild suggests that the player would be willing to accept "any offer" from Real Madrid.

The playmaker left Real Madrid three years ago after his father and agent Mustafa Özil and Los Blancos did not agree to give him a salary raise. Madrid then decided to sell him and Özil sacked his father and chose a new agent.

This is probably just another transfer rumor, given that Madrid are most likely staying put in the summer transfer market. With James, Isco and Asensio on the squad Los Blancos do not need another playmaker in Mesut Özil and Zidane wants to sign a midfielder instead, so take this report with a grain of salt.

Likelihood: 1/10
