Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Keylor Navas will not be available for Real Madrid's La Liga opener against Real Sociedad in Anoeta. While Cristiano Ronaldo and Navas will be recovering from their injuries, Modric is suspended after seeing his fifth yellow card on Real's closing match last season.
On the other hand, it looks like Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos and Pepe should be able to play some minutes during the Santiago Bernabéu trophy against Stade Reims next Tuesday. They've been working with the squad for almost a week already and if Zidane and the rest of the staff think that they're fit enough, all three of them will get a spot in the Starting XI.
Zinedine Zidane was forced to play without most of his stars against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup and yet the reserves delivered and won the trophy for Madrid thanks to a late-minute equaliser by Sergio Ramos, a brilliant goal by Asensio and Carvajal's game-winner.
