Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale won't be helping Real Madrid against Espanyol. Zidane decided not to take any chances with them and both players stayed in Madrid, meaning that players like Asensio, James or Vazquez will have to prove they have what it takes to play relevant minutes in the club. James, Vazquez and Morata played very well off the bench on Real's win against Sporting Portugal, and Zidane will surely be hoping to more of the same tonight.

Espanyol should be a manageable side, given that they have only collected two draws over three games. They have quality players like Piatti and Baptistao upfront, but they lack composure defensively as they've conceded nine goals so far.

Real Madrid are leading the table and will stay on top even if they draw. However, it would be great for Zidane and his mean to get the three points without two of their key players.
