Update: Lucas Silva Returns To Training

The road to recovery is far from over

Back in July, Lucas Silva wasn’t able to pass the medical required to join Sporting CP on loan, because the doctors noted something irregular with his heart. The problem had been identified as cardiac arrhythmia. He spent a month in the hospital and then another month was spent resting and abstaining from football related activities. This was to insure that he wasn’t suffering from something far worse.

There is now some good news to report.

Silva returned to the Valdebebas training facilities today to start the road back to playing competitive football again.

Because Silva isn’t an EU player he will not be able to feature for Los Blancos after completing his 3 month training routine. What’s most likely going to happen is that the club will wait until the January transfer window and send him out on loan, which is aimed at getting him more playing time and preparing him for a Real Madrid return.
