Real Madrid are hoping to bounce back from their disappointing draws against Villarreal and Las Palmas and earn a solid, convincing win at the Signal-Iduna Park.
They'll have to do it without Casemiro, but Toni Kroos feels like he can replace what the Brazilian midfielder brings to the table.
"Casemiro is a crucial player for us, he gives us something we weren't having before. My plan doesn't change much without him, I try to touch the ball as often as possible and defensively I will try to play where he plays", said Kroos during the pre-match press conference.
Zinedine Zidane did not want to unveil who will play in the midfield alongside Modric and Kroos himself, although Mateo Kovacic will most likely be the chosen one because of his physicality and his work-rate.
Carvajal, Varane, Ramos and Danilo should be the ones playing in defense, although Nacho could also replace Marcelo on the left wing.
Keylor Navas will probably make his return to the starting XI tonight.
Real Madrid Projected XI: Navas, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Danilo, Kroos, Modric, Kovacic, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema.
Out: Casemiro (ankle), Marcelo (calf)
Borussia Dortmund Projected XI: Burki, Piszczek, Sokratis, Ginter, Schmelzer, Weigl, Pulisic, Castro, Guerreiro, Dembelé, Aubameyang.
Out: Durm (knee), Reus (groin)
