Real Madrid's own Marco Asensio has been nominated for the 2016 Golden Boy Award. Lucas Hernandez (Atletico Madrid), Tony Sanabria (Betis) and Carlos Fernandez (Sevilla) are the other La Liga players who feature on the list.
Asensio should be one of the favorites to win the award, with other promising players like Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Ousmane Dembele (Dortmund) Leroy Sane (Manchester City) or Donnarumma (Milan) amongst those who have a good chance to win the award.
This is a very prestigious award, won by players like Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba, Isco Alarcon, Lionel Messi or Sergio Aguero in the past.
Asensio definitely deserves to be on the list as he has started the season playing very well for Real Madrid and he showed plenty of talent during his loan with Espanyol. It will be interesting to see who wins the award this year given that there's no clear favorite amongst those selected.
