Spain coach Julen Lopetegi published the squad list for the next two matches against Italy and Albania. Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Nacho Fernandez, Isco, Lucas Vazquez and Morata have been selected while Marco Asensio, who was called up for the last FIFA break, has been left out.

All things considered, this means that Isco is replacing Asensio on the list. Lopetegi said that he trusts Isco while also saying that the player "is not getting the minutes we'd like."

Isco hasn't been a relevant player for Real Madrid this season after picking up an unlucky ankle injury during the first few weeks that kept him out of the team. Still, this will be a very long season ahead and the Spanish playmaker will surely have chances to prove his value as a player.

There were rumors suggesting that Isco was on his way out of Madrid this summer but the player ended up deciding to stay.
