Toni Kroos will be the next Real Madrid player to sign a contract extension after Cristiano Ronaldo, according to MARCA. The German midfielder signed for Madrid two years ago and his current deal will not expire until 2020. However, he's still 26 years old and Los Blancos want to enjoy his best years of football, meaning that Kroos' new contract could expire in 2022 or even 2023.

Kroos has been a crucial player ever since he signed for Madrid. He played deep for Carlo Ancelotti and then moved forward a bit for Zidane and Benitez. Madrid spent €25 million on his signing, which has been one of the best Real Madrid have made in recent years.

Offering Kroos a new deal makes a lot of sense as he will surely be a very relevant player in Madrid for years to come. Modric isn't getting any younger, so Kroos' importance in the midfield could be increasing over the next couple of seasons.
