Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid could escape a transfer ban by FIFA, according to El Chiringuito's Josep Pedrerol. FIFA's decision will be announced this Thursday and apparently both Madrid clubs could be fined.
"We will know FIFA's decision this Thursday. Both Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid could be fined, it doesn't have to be the same punishment Barcelona received some time ago," said Pedrerol.
Barcelona received a transfer ban of two windows and reports suggested and assumed that both Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid would receive the same punishment, although this report certainly gives Madrid hope.
Los Blancos took a gamble this summer as they decided not to make major signings. If FIFA finally decide to ban them, they won't be able to register any player until winter of 2017, with key players like Pepe, Modric or Ramos not getting any younger.
Club sources within Real Madrid told Managing Madrid that they don't know FIFA's decision yet.
