Real Madrid Wishes Their Chinese Fans A Happy New Year

It’s the Year of the Rooster.

Real Madrid may be a Spanish club rooted in Madrid, but it has a global reach with a fanbase that encompasses people from every single continent except Antarctica. Recognizing that, Real Madrid has released an official video and statement offering “their warmest wishes to fans in the Asian country (China) ahead of the start of the Year of the Rooster.”

Real Madrid wish a Happy New Year to their Chinese fans around the world. This Saturday 28th of January, China bids farewell to the Year of the Monkey and welcomes in the Year of the Rooster. In keeping with the traditions of these festivities, the Whites have got involved with the celebrations by sending their best wishes to fans in the Asian country through a series of videos. As well as sending messages of goodwill, the players, accompanied by the Castilla player, Lin, recreated a New Years' Eve dinner together with a Chinese family.

There will also be various acts to celebrate Chinese New Year during this Sunday's clash with Real Sociedad (8:45pm CET) at the Santiago Bernabéu. Among the celebrations, the Whites' line-up will be displayed in Chinese on the giant video screens and there will be an arch displaying festive messages for the occasion.

In this same spirit, Managing Madrid would like to warmly wish our Chinese fans and all who celebrate the Chinese New Year a happy Year of the Rooster!
